Unfortunately young ryan was a friend of the step kids. shame some young ones dont understand the dangers of drugs... Unless you were at the post mortem you wont know exactly what he took ..............

Agreed. I've heard 5 or 6 differing stories, ranging from things direct friends of his said on the sunday (they didn't all leave on the saturday) to people I know (lot of my mates know of him and his pack of mates as we're all from around forres/hopeman/elgin) and the 14 ecstasy tablets is a new one to me. Couldn't be bothered fueling the speculation more when that appeared here but I don't think that one's true. As midge say's we'll never really know....and it's not relevant any more. Just hope the other youngsters out there can realise from this we're not in a race to get as f**ked up on drugs as we possibly can...know your limits folks!! Play safe..reach for the lasers...then go home alive!

this boy's death is really sad and i dont think anyone is trying to dishonour his life by speculaing about what happened. when a story like this reaches media attention people will discuss it.
but what's also sad is that these stories, whether true or not, throw mud over the dance music scene. to the point where it's almost taken for granted these days that if ur into electronic music u must do drugs.
the way i see it, and i know this will sound harsh, is if u need mind altering chemicals to appreciate some music then ur basically not a true fan of it in the first place. a little bevvy and some smokes..fine...but when it comes to chewing ur own face off wired up on some designer drug just to feel good at a festival i think uve gone too far.
we saw some peeps at rockness who had gone beyond the comedy drunk/spaced stage and where staggering about like something from a george romero flick. not funny at all and you just wanted to pat these people on the back and say "go home mate".

I agree with you stephen, don't take my comments as having a go at you in any way - we are all right to discuss/speculate/reflect on what happened - I'm just trying to highlight the fact that there's so many stories about, i even heard one about it being smack which is total sh*te, that I wanted to make others aware to take it all with a pinch of salt. I've deliberately not mentioned what I believe to be the real story because even then it might not be....... Fact is that his family and friends probably all know exactly what happened, and soon we maybe will as well.
Agree with it being more mud on the scene, but in this case I can't see it being concentrated on the "dance" scene as much as some deaths have/are. After all rockness isn't viewed as a dance festival nowadays. He was probably dancing about to The View or something at the time!
40000 (or whatever) people drunk in a field at a festival - always gonna produce a small % of total mongos f**ked out their tits - if they aren't confined to the medical tent then they're lying rolling about on their own or wandering about chewing their own face off. I know I've been there a few times! Over excitement on the day maybe! Who knows but I doubt most of them intended to go that far at the start of the day. Once you've popped you can't stop and all that....

Its pretty naive to take that amount of anything in such a small space of time (if he actually did) but what makes it worse is that E's are very different to what they used to be, they are cheaper, nastier and full of all manner of sh*te. They are generally full of all the bzp/mcpp that was the active ingredient in those 'legal highs' that were around before they were outlawed last year. Grimey stuff, and unpredictable.

On a more positive note, sounds like Rockness was a reasonable weekend, planning a trip north for it next year regardless of the lineup, just for the banter!

Exactly - it was a great weekend!!! I (and most on here i think) weren't that bothered about the line up, but the banter was good! Spent the majority of time out on the grass with mates having a right party!

ditto on the quality weekend. good tunes and great atmosphere.
just picking up on what blend said about these pills tho.....that's so true. some mates were taking cheeky halves of these so called mdma pills and had horrendous hangovers next day....which is what those nasty herbal highs did that were being sold at the first rockness.....the bzp peptide things.
some irresponsible gangster in new zealand has made tens of thousands selling those and peddling them as a natural substances. in fact they're a synthetic drug and far more dangerous than e's....can knock ur heart rate way up.

Aye its crazy stuff, you used to be able to legally buy the powder direct off the net, people were making their own capsules and selling them, way cheaper than buying the legal high manufactured pills. Takes about 2hrs to come on so folk were taking more and more thinking it wasnt working, then ending up in a shape. Mad trippy too if you took a few, but not good trippy like mushrooms. Cant sleep for around 12hrs after it wears off too. Good move to make it illegal if you ask me.
